Shield
Yellow and green are colors traditionally associated with Armor. The sea lion, from the coat of arms of Manila, symbolizes World War II service in the Philippines. The representation of the Coliseum is emblematic of participation of some of the elements of the Regiment in Italy during World War II.
Crest
The crest is that of the Minnesota Army National Guard.
The coat of arms was originally approved for the 194th Tank Battalion on 14 April 1952. It was redesignated for the 194th Armor Regiment on 18 July 1960. It was rescinded for the 194th Armor Regiment and reassigned to the 194th Cavalry Regiment effective 2 August 1971. It was amended to add the crest of the State of Iowa and revise the symbolism of the design on 26 January 1989. The insignia was redesignated for the 194th Infantry Regiment and amended to delete the crest of the State of Iowa and revise the symbolism effective 1 September 1992. It was redesignated for the 194th Armor Regiment with the symbolism revised on 15 November 2000.
